FAQ

Basic FAQ for both free and paid versions.

Is account registration or contract required to use Heatmap?

Unlike many heatmap services, Aurora Heatmap works completely within your WordPress.
No account registration or contract is required.
However, a monthly or annual license agreement is required to use the paid version.

Is there a limit to the number of pages or PV that can be analyzed?

There are no restrictions on the paid version or the free version.

Is there a case where Aurora Heatmap cannot be used even on a site built with WordPress?

Aurora Heatmap displays heatmap data from the WordPress dashboard.
For this reason, it is not possible to reproduce the mobile display on the PC with the mobile type that switches the display of the site by the agent.
This is also called dynamic delivery, and this type of mobile support was common in the early days of mobile support.
Since Google has recommended responsiveness, it is a rare form at present, except for major portal sites.

Which should be used for accuracy setting?

Basically, high accuracy is recommended.
If you select the standard, the number of counts will be considerably high, but if the amount of access is sufficient, that is, if heat map data is accumulated with high accuracy, use the more accurate high accuracy mode. Please use it.

How long can I see the heatmap after installing the plug-in?

Depending on the number of visits to the site, data will accumulate in a few hours to two days.

Is the heat map displayed in real time?

We do not send count data every time a user takes action so as not to degrade the performance of the site.
Actually, the data is reflected almost in real time.

About 3 days have passed, but there seems to be no data.

Counting may not occur for sites with extremely low access.
Make sure that there is an inflow to the site.
Also, if you are using a cache plug-in, the analysis script may not be output on the page, so delete the cache once.

It is not counted even if you access it yourself.

In order to ensure the reliability of the analysis data, the data to be acquired with a specific algorithm is selected.
Administrator access is also excluded.

It seems that the number of cases reflected in the heat map is smaller than the number of accesses.

The purpose of the heat map is not to count absolute numbers, but to understand user behavior.
In order to ensure the reliability of the analysis data, the data to be acquired with a specific algorithm is selected.
Even if it is in that category, it will not be counted unless user action occurs.
The number of counts also affects the accuracy setting.

If the permalink is changed, will the heat map data be inherited?

In the current specification, the heat map data is stored in association with the URL, so if you change the URL by changing the permalink or post slug, it will be treated as a separate page.

Can I see a heat map on my smartphone?

From 1.0.2, it is now possible to check from the dashboard on a mobile device.

What is a count bar?

It shows how many data are counted at which position on the vertical axis.
Should help with behavior analysis.

Will the recorded data leak outside?

In both the free version and paid version, there is no communication of the count data to any other than the content distribution server where WordPress is installed.

About privacy

  • Recording personally identifiable data including IP addresses

Notices

Use with cache plug-ins

Many cache plug-ins have a function to control the reading of the JavaScript file of the HTML header in order to improve the response.
While these are useful, Depending on the settings, it may cause various problems.

First, a script called reporter.js needs to run for Aurora Heatmap measurement.
Since reporter.js uses jQuery, it is assumed that it is loaded before that.
If there is a problem with the operation due to the cache plug-in, please execute the following.

  1. Stop combining JavaScript files (Minify)
  2. Check if jQuery is loaded before reporter.js
  3. Stop combining JavaScript files and lazy loading itself, or exclude jQuery and reporter.js

* A drawing script called h337.js is used to display the heat map on the dashboard.
If you are having trouble drawing heatmaps, try h337.js.

Aurora Heatmap can be used with the following cache plug-ins.

  • WP Rocket
  • W3 Total Cache
  • WP Super Cache
  • LiteSpeed Cache
